Google Chrome: How to disable JavaScript in Chrome

Launch Google Chrome from Start/Run with the parameter -disable-javascript.

You can add this to the Google Chrome shortcut.

For example, in Vista:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -disable-javascript

For example, in Windows XP:

"C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome" -disable-javascript

Other parameters:
-disable-images
-disable-java
-disable-plugins
-disable-popup-blocking
-start-maximized

works perfectly - just edit the XP path to "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\Chrome.exe" -disable-javascript

It didn't work for me until I closed all open Chrome browsers first.

Okay, now is there a way to disable Javascript and NOT HAVE TO RESTART the browser?? Restarting is ANNOYING when you have a bunch of windows open that have to reload. Chrome sucks at some of the simplest things FF does natively like disable/enable javascript easily. There are a lot of situations where you would do this too.

Actually. If you go to options in chrome.. click "under the hood" > "Content settings" > "Javascript" and you can disable it there...

Under the Hood > Content settings > Javascript

Thanks for the tip!
