Launch Google Chrome from Start/Run with the parameter -disable-javascript.
You can add this to the Google Chrome shortcut.
For example, in Vista:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -disable-javascript
For example, in Windows XP:
"C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome" -disable-javascript
Other parameters:
-disable-images
-disable-java
-disable-plugins
-disable-popup-blocking
-start-maximized

Doesnt work
works perfectly - just edit the XP path to "C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\Chrome.exe" -disable-javascript
It didn't work for me until I closed all open Chrome browsers first.
Worked like a charm. Thanks!
This post really helped me, I have used it here: http://www.millionclues.com/tips-and-tricks/internet-tips/save-orkut-photos
Great work, Cheers
It works fine!
Doesn't work for me. Followed the Vista instructions. I'm using Chrome 4 though...
Cool !!! Thx na ja
Thanks, I've just tried on Ubuntu desktop:
$ chromium-browser -disable-javascript
It works perfectly!
I must thank "will" for comment as one of mine chrome window was open so images and javascript was not disabled. now it work fines. thanx for trick too!
Okay, now is there a way to disable Javascript and NOT HAVE TO RESTART the browser?? Restarting is ANNOYING when you have a bunch of windows open that have to reload. Chrome sucks at some of the simplest things FF does natively like disable/enable javascript easily. There are a lot of situations where you would do this too.
it works!
thanks!
This link to the application works in 7/vista/xp equally:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
:)
What about for mac?
Thanks now I know how to disable java in google chrome browser.
Actually. If you go to options in chrome.. click "under the hood" > "Content settings" > "Javascript" and you can disable it there...
Under the Hood > Content settings > Javascript
Thanks for the tip!
I've made a simple extension to open quickly the javascript panel, hope this will be usefull :

Since chrome 16, there is an extension to instant enable / disable javascript : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/geddoclleiomckbhadiaipdggiiccfje
Thanks alot for this tip. I didn't know how to do it in chrome.
